World renowned for their stunning colour palette, Argyle Pink diamonds are limited and unique, and in high demand.

Argyle Pink diamonds are as iconic as the mine from which they come. The Argyle diamond mine, owned by the Rio Tinto Corporation in Western Australia, has been supplying the world with rare pink diamonds for three decades. However, pink diamond production accounts for less than 1% of the mine's total output. Having almost exhausted its economic production, Argyle will cease operations in November 2020. It is this limited supply that underlines the unique prestige of Argyle pink diamonds. It is estimated that because of the mine's closure, the price of Argyle Pink diamonds will only increase, and the person who owns and proudly wears them is already considered prestigious.

When it comes to colour, the three main parameters that should be considered when choosing an Argyle Pink Diamond are

1) Shade - Shade is the primary colour of a diamond, e.g. pink.

2) Overtone - Overtone refers to a secondary colour that may be present. For example. Purplish Pink Diamond means that the primary colour is pink and the secondary colour is purple. On GIA certificates, the secondary colour is represented by adding "ish" to the secondary colour, i.e. purple.

3) Saturation - Saturation refers to the intensity of the colour represented in a diamond. The level of intensity is a very important parameter when choosing Argyle Pink diamonds, because the higher the colour intensity, the rarer the stone... and the rarer the stone, the more valuable the diamond will be.

In addition to the three parameters of colour, the quality of the cut, the purity of the diamond and of course its weight known as carat (Ct) are used to assess value according to the grading criteria adopted by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA).
